The Pearland Alliance for Arts and Culture is proud to announce the addition of Sherry Stockwell to the Board of Directors, joining Mayor Tom Reid, PISD Superintendent Dr. John Kelly and Executive Director Heidi Wiess.
Stockwell studied real estate, business, marketing and mediation at University of Houston and has applied her knowledge to the Pearland business arena.
Stockwell has a long, successful history in Pearland. She led the development of the Visitor’s Center and real estate office at Shadow Creek Ranch, a 3,500-acre, master-planned community of almost 6,000 homes. She coordinated efforts between the developer, builders, real estate agents and the marketing firm to create a team that marketed and sold homes at a record pace. In fact, Shadow Creek Ranch was the fastest-selling new community in the U.S., with over 1,000 homes sold in its third full year of operation.
Among the successful businesses she established and is leading to profitability are Reflection Bay Event Center, Kibbe Stockwell Properties and Pearland Med Spa.
Stockwell devotes herself to many charities, including the One World Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit founded in 2013. Today, One World Foundation funds clean water projects, orphanages, arts and cultural education programs and women’s projects all over the globe.
She also has served in board positions for the Houston Brokers Council, Easter Seals Association, Pearland Chamber of Commerce, Pearland 288 Corridor Rotary Club, Builders without Borders, Turning Point, the Mayor’s Cultural Arts Board (PAA&C) and The Pearl Theatre. She is a long-standing member of the Houston, Texas and National Association of Realtors.
“I believe in the Arts Alliance, as the City of Pearland has so much to offer in the way of arts and culture, and having an organization such as the Alliance will assist in bringing all areas of arts into focus and bring organization for the citizens of Pearland. Our board is committed to being the umbrella for all things arts and culture,” Stockwell said.
She is a happily married grandmother of four boys and lives in Pearland. When she is not working, Stockwell enjoys reading history and philosophy, travel and cultural awareness studies.
