The mission of the Pearland Alliance for Arts and Culture (PAAC), a charitable organization, is to develop, promote, preserve and enhance the Pearland area artistically, culturally and economically.
Spearheaded by Mayor Tom Reid, PAAC was incorporated in 2013. Board Members include Mayor Reid, Executive Director Heidi Wiess, Pearland ISD Superintendent Dr. John Kelly and entrepreneur Sherry Stockwell.
PAAC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a goal to foster the city’s movement toward becoming a cultural destination city.
Fusion of the Arts 2018 – September 15, 10am to 7pm
Pearland Alliance for Arts & Culture presents “Fusion of the Arts 2018,” a presentation of global dance, music, theater, a “People’s Choice Award” for visual arts & “Roots & Wings,” an interactive diversity showcase. The event offers free admission and refreshments. The project is supported by a City of Pearland Cultural Arts Grant Program from the City of Pearland Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Fusion of the Arts 2018 Official Guidelines – All art will be shown on easels which will be provided. There will be a maximum of thirty easels. Individual artists can submit up to three pieces. Easels are being booked on a first-come, first-serve basis. As of this writing, 12 available spots remain. That could mean just four artists, if each submits three pictures.
All entries are welcome, but if the exhibition is over-subscribed, priority will be given to Pearland artists and other members of the Pearland Arts League, so please be specific about where you are from. Entry deadline is September 8. Entrants should provide a thumbnail JPEG image of each picture accompanied by the title, size, medium and sale price (if applicable), in addition to their name and contact info.
The charge is $10 for one entry, $20 for two or three. There is a single category of all/any 2-D art, and the awards will be by People’s Choice at the show. First prize to be awarded is $225, with two runners-up to be awarded $125 each. Awards subsidized by the Pearland Alliance for Arts and Culture.
PAAC has not imposed any size limits, however 24″ to 36″ will work best in the Gallery.
Delivery will be in the evening of Friday, September 14, and pick up at 7pm (close of show) on Saturday, September 15.

Experience “Visions of India!”
The Pearland Alliance for Arts & Culture is pleased to have been chosen to present “Visions of India”, a collection of Indian art and artifacts, on loan from Kannappan Museums.
The exhibit will provide an opportunity for the community to view selected artistic and sculptural artifacts that will be part of the future Kannappan Art Museum and learn about how the Indian culture developed over the centuries.
The exhibit will promote a mutual understanding and strengthened partnerships of India and the U.S. The Pearland community will be immersed in its rich culture to create a shared future. The exhibit is now showing, with private guided tours available.
The Pearland Arts League, Pearl Theater, Kids’ Backporch Productions, Allegro Academy of Music, One World Foundation, Pearland Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Global Organization for Divinity the Foundation for Creative Leadership, Art & Kustom Kreations, and the Home Grown Theatre are examples of the organizations that PAAC promotes.
